Chewy Bones -- Which One Is Better?

When the teeth itch and meals seem far between, a chewy bone is just the thing. But which one is the best? Harry has tested two different varieties.

I've chosen two completely different bones for this test", Harry says, "the straight, tightly rolled chewy bone, and the more fanciful 'bone-shaped' chewy bone."

"The bone-shaped bone was initially very interesting, gnawing-wise. It was more fun chewing a thick knot than a thin tube. However, I quickly found that this bone wasn't as big as it had seemed. Even if it had an impressive volume, there was lots of air between the layers, and the knot at one end came loose within two hours of chewing."

"Even though chewing the loose bit was fun, I feel I have to issue a caution here: It is too easy to ingest large chunks, which means that... eh... how to put it... one has to eat it several times before it stays down..."

"That's quite enough of that. In contrast, the straight, tightly rolled bone has a slightly boring shape and is hard to get a grip on with paws or teeth, but it lasts for a very long time. So, my conclusion is: Straight bone -- a long-term winner!"
