-- A new kind of music for a kind kind of pet --

Just in time for Jane The Hamster's first birthday (in human years -- that's 44 years MSHT as we all know by now), I have invented a whole new music style in her honour. Yes, folks, it's the waddle, a totally unique Hamster March in alternating 7/8 / 6/8 tempo.

What? Sounds odd? Well, have you ever seen a hamster waddle? OK then: This music is designed to be exactly as rhythmically awkward as that! You may also think of it as 13/16 in half tempo which is the way I had to record it. Or sort of a jazz-rock waltz tempo, with half a beat added to every other bar, if you prefer that. Whichever way you look at it, settle for that -- just look at it. Or, if you feel brave, you may try listening to it. But whatever you do, don't even attempt dancing.

The file is a bit on the large side, but that's because it's not some puny General Midi file -- It's a full-blown, near-CD-quality piece in mp3 format. Enjoy! (This is more likely to happen if you've grown up with the likes of Jethro Tull, Yes, King Crimson or possibly Sky, known to dabble in odd time signatures. But you never know until you've tried.)

Note: Due to the size, download the file before attempting to play it.
